Clinics that only use the AIR

What a clinic needs before it records immunisations without claiming through RebateRight

A clinic that records immunisations on the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) through RebateRight completes the HW027 form before its first AIR request, whether or not it claims.

What each vaccination location needs

Each vaccination location has 3 things in place before its first AIR request:

  • A recognised vaccination provider. A medical practitioner, midwife or nurse practitioner with a Medicare provider number is recognised automatically. Any other provider, such as a council or a pharmacy, applies for recognition with Services Australia’s IM004 form and receives an AIR provider number.
  • The HW027 form, with the location’s Minor ID. A provider without a Medicare provider number registers with the AIR provider number it receives from the IM004 form. Minor ID and the HW027 form explains how to get the Minor ID and submit the form.
  • A provider number linked to the Minor ID. On every request, the AIR checks that the provider number is linked to the location’s Minor ID. The AIR returns an error when the provider number is not linked, or when the AIR has not authorised the provider for the service requested.

If you build the software, Before your first AIR request gives the error codes the AIR returns.
